4 Heroes - a co-op pixel action game

4 Heroes is a free multiplayer action game that runs right in your browser, on a computer or a phone. Create a room, invite up to three friends with a room code and fight your way through a story of robot snakes, stone gorillas, giant flowers and a legendary kraken. Every map is a different challenge - some are races, some are puzzles and some are huge boss fights that only a team can win.

How to play

1. Create an account - pick a nickname and a password. Your coins, hero levels and unlocked maps are saved.
2. Create a room or join a friend's room with its room code. A room holds up to 4 players.
3. Press Ready. The host chooses the map and presses Start.
4. Clear the map together. When everyone who is still alive reaches the goal (or the boss falls), the next map opens for the whole team.

Controls (computer)

On a phone the game shows touch buttons: a joystick on the left and attack, ability and weapon buttons on the right. You can move every button where you like in Settings → Phone controls.

The heroes

Every hero has its own level. Clearing maps and defeating enemies gives experience (XP); new levels unlock stronger attacks, a second weapon and special skills. Coins buy skins, weapon skins and costumes.

Maps

Season 1

• The start - a flat, open field: the simplest place for your first battle.
• Just run - a giant robot snake breaks through the wall. Dodge mines, pick the right path and land on the checkpoint.
• Mini game - a sky-blue elf throws mega apples from a giant tree. Catch 12 in your basket.
• Why are we here? - the city market. Talk to the fishmonger elf - he knows something...
• Just run 2 or end boss - the robot snake smashes into the market. Shoot it until it falls.
• Bad dogs - evil robot dogs wait by the giant tree in the forest.
• Walking stones - swaying stones over a bottomless pit. Each stone collapses one second after you land on it.
• Gorila Rock boss - a giant stone gorilla roars, shoves and smashes platforms into the ceiling.
• Right on time - you fell into the lair of a hungry Fat Elf... and you are next on the menu.
• UnderWorld - glowing nature, tree houses, strange creatures and a man-eating flower.

Season 2

• Giant Flower boss - the road is blocked by thorns and a giant flower. Only its head can be hurt.
• Mountain Lift - get everyone on a huge platform and ride up the mountain while red bots attack.
• Farm - a quiet farm with strange vegetable beds. Just one carrot... what could go wrong?
• Legendary Kraken boss - a misty river and a kraken sleeping in the deep. Hit its red eye.
• Yellow Door - someone is screaming for help behind the yellow door...
• His Back - a giant wooden path zigzags 130 m into the sky. Someone you know rolls exploding barrels down from the top - jump over them!
• Hot Potato boss - a wooden house between two cliffs. Gorila Rock can't be hurt: blow up the INFINITY TNT, then run to the cliffs in 3 seconds!
• Iron Giant boss - a giant robot after a meadow road. Only its head can be hurt: jump on the floating platforms, dodge the fist, the eye laser and the lightning, beat the bot it lets out while it recharges.
• Road to Skyland - a shop and a jetpack vending machine stand before a deep chasm. Buy a jetpack (1,000 coins) and fly to Skyland... or make the machine angry and take one by force.
• Sky Battle boss - fly with a jetpack through a thunderstorm above the clouds (W/S - up and down, A/D - left and right). Flying bot cars shoot at you, lightning strikes from the sky - and the Sky Fortress waits at the end.

Bonus: Shop

A small shop that is always open. The Fat Elf's acid stops your HP from regenerating and the Iron Giant's lightning makes your stamina refill slowly - these stay until you buy a cure: an Elixir (50 coins) or a Chip (50 coins).

Bonus: My Farm

The host's farm - only the room owner plants, harvests and fishes, the other players can watch. New seeds and fruit trees unlock with the farm level (carrots, tomatoes, corn, strawberries, pumpkins, watermelons, peppers, eggplants, pineapples, grapes), crops keep growing while you are offline and grow twice as fast when it rains. Every extra plot ("Free plot") opens six more garden beds for 250 coins. At the end of the farm there is a river: build a dock (200 coins), buy a fishing rod (100) or a big net (300) in the Shop and catch fish of random sizes. With the rod a line appears when a fish bites: stop it on green for the full price, on yellow for 30% less, on red the fish gets away. Crops are sold to the fruit elf and fish to the fishmonger at the city market (Season 1, "Why are we here?").

Water a garden bed for free and it grows 1.5x faster; fertilizer from the Shop doubles the harvest and sometimes makes it golden (x5). The orchard has three spots for apple, pear and cherry trees that give fruit again and again. Fishing rods and nets break after 20 uses. If the host stays away for 15 hours, five mushrooms grow on the farm and start eating the crops - kill them! The Giant Tree opens for 400 coins: pour blue water on it, climb its branches and pick 100 blue apples - then it wakes up and fights back with roots, spiky apples and huge roots shooting up to the sky. Beat it and it sleeps again until the next blue water.

Elves leave orders on the board next to the farmhouse - deliver the crops, fruit or fish they ask for and get far more coins than at the market. Every day two products are on "Today's offer" and sell for double the price. Harvesting, fishing and orders give farm XP: the farm level raises the inventory size and makes the house, barn and dock bigger. A very rare goldfish can bite the fishing rod - catch it for an achievement. The Shop also sells decorations for the farm: flower beds, a lantern, house paint and a guard dog.

Bonus: No More Friends

A night arena where friends become rivals: every hero fights for himself against the other players. A defeated hero comes back after 3 seconds - the first to 5 victories wins. The knight's shield blocks most of the damage.

Bonus: Arena

Endless training. Bots keep coming and every fifth kill calls a random boss. Every kill gives coins and XP to the player who made it, and every defeated boss rewards the whole team. The Arena opens when the host's hero reaches level 5.

Playing together

• Rooms can be public or private. Private rooms are joined only with the room code.
• The lobby has a text chat and an optional voice chat (the microphone is used only after you press the voice button).
• Players who fall become ghosts until the team clears the map - nobody is left behind.

Is the game free?

Yes. 4 Heroes is free to play. You can optionally watch an ad to get bonus coins.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The game runs in any modern browser. On a phone you can add it to the home screen to play full screen.
